INTEGRATION
Side Crow is basically a twisted variation of Crow. Crow would be a great starting point to get to grips with the basic mechanics. A beginner in arm balances can use both arms to support the body, distributing the weight, providing an easier sense of balance but this option requires more rotation and flexion to hook the back hip on the back arm. Traditionally the pose is balanced just on one arm, the other arm provides leverage and stability. Because the back hip is unsupported, more work is required throughout the body, particularly the core to actively hold the position against gravity.
